Environmental factors do play a role in the water level, and just because your pool water is lower than normal does not mean it has a leak. Wind, humidity, and sun exposure all impact your rate of evaporation. Our technicians use advanced acoustic equipment, tests, and techniques proven most effective in diagnosing and locating any type of pool leak.

• Water loss

• Air in your plumbing lines

• Dirt or debris in the bottom of the pool near returns

• Fluctuating chemicals levels

• Adding water more than once a week

• Have your pool filled to normal operating level. If you have an auto-fill feature, turn auto-fill valve off.

• Use a normal-sized 5 gallon bucket and immerse the bucket in the pool to match your pool’s water level on the second step of your pool.

• Use a marker or duct tape to mark the level inside of the bucket. 

• Turn off the circulation. 

• Come back in 24 hours to compare the inside water level to the outside water level. Both the water in the bucket and the water in your pool should evaporate equally. If the water level outside the bucket has dropped more than the water level inside the bucket, you likely have a pool leak.
